The other day, i was saying something really serious about a colleague of mine walking through the glass, and every one thought i was lying until he came himself to give them the full gist... Whatever!!!

Some others say i can form? Ok thats so not true. Well messing with you, i am just someone people need to understand. Wo, i dont know jor .

Enough of trying to justify me.

In other unreleated news, I'm so in love with The Cranberries at the moment. .. Its so unbelievable. And to think my brother was a fan in 2003? It was so awkward waking up to The Cranberries playing every morning when every other family wakes up to morning devotions....

So exactly nine years after, my colleague Osagie hooks me up with the CD.... Ooooh sorry, he actually didn't hook me up like that.... I come into the office, and dude is there listening with head phones listening to something i cant pinpoint.... "Sup Osagie" i mumble... "Hey Hey Nike, how was your weekend" he replies. 'Was alright, cant complain"... Then i grab the CD on his table.... "OOH, The Cranberries, can i rip"... "Why not?, when i'm done, i'd pass it on"...

So thats the story.... From ripping it to my system, the CD is in my car now, and the songs are on my phone.. For easy access....

Please remind me to thank Osagie on twitter for a CD he hasn't given me yet... Weird yea? Everyone that gets into the car i call mine can like to sing along when i'm screaming "In your head, in your head, zombie zombie zombie zombie......."

Life as we all know it

So Life as i know it is gradually changing.

And ooh, in other related but scattered news, i love my BB like crazy. Last week has been one decision making for me, you know the sort of decision where your friends, family, colleagues cant make for you?

So at some point, i decided to sample people's opinon, and then i realise something- The more i ask, thr more confused that i get. Aremu has a vast understanding of how to display with the saxophone. It’s the tool of his trade, and he has mastered how to work it from A-Z.
Mike Aremu has been an advocate of the saxophone from his childhood days. His journey to mainstream performance saw him signed up by kennis music in 1999 where he released his early albums ‘Dance’ and ‘No shaking’. It was a first of its kind for an artiste in Nigeria to deliver a well- executed jazz album, at a time when the industry was consumed with affection for pop music. His success was a revelation that jazz music, just like pop and hip hop, has a loyal fan base in Nigeria too. This revelation got him described as an “Ace saxophonist” by the Nigerian Guardian.
Today Aremu remains one of the few Nigerian acts who hold on to performing live, bringing out the real essence off his art and music.
He presently has a listening audience that cuts across international boundaries and was described as a “higher powered saxophonist by the Washington post.
Come July 24, 2010, Aremu will join acts like British born two time MOBO award winner Yolanda Brown, bez and Kunle Ayo on stage to deliver a performance he has tagged ‘Unadulterated’.
Yolanda Brown, a British Saxophone player is a two time MOBO award winner. Born to Jamaican parents, 28 year old performed at the debut edition of sax appeal in 2009.
Bez Idakula a talented singer with Cobhams Asuquo Music Production is one act pundits have penciled as one of Nigeria’s acts to watch out for. They are also joined by South African based Nigerian Kunle Ayo who is regarded as one of the most gifted guitarists on the continent.

HSM COMES TO NIGERIA?

<img style="float:left; And the former Insider editor continues to get decorated by renowned bodies, making clear once again, that journalism may be literature in a hurry, but some are taking their time to pen words that seek to change the world…

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 281px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wnjlhTha8wM/StxaD8jQBzI/AAAAAAAAAOc/6AVqsUJS3P0/s320/bola+tinubu.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394285477523097394" />
44. Ahmed Bola Tinubu: The businessman and politician has not only blessed Lagosians with a performing governor, he’s also plotting his way to relevance in the national order, and enjoying a reign as today’s unofficial Yoruba elder. Blessed with political savvy and passionate about philanthropy and mentorship, the 57 year-old former Senator and Governor is an old horse that’s not just learning new tricks, but mastering them too…

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 168px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wnjlhTha8wM/StxaZ5_RkhI/AAAAAAAAAOk/yCRQXIc8Nak/s320/Olusegun+Obasanjo.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394285854792454674" />
45. Olusegun Obasanjo: The only man to have ruled the country twice, OBJ is the man Nigerians love to hate. Witty, confident and fast-tempered, the former Head-of-State got a lot of things wrong during his last tenure. But he got some right too- including GSM and the idea of involving technocrats at the centre of government…

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wnjlhTha8wM/StxbM8lF9fI/AAAAAAAAAOs/D4QB8oXOQz0/s320/Charles+Soludo.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394286731661276658" />
46. Charles Chukwuma Soludo: Before he burnt his fingers the botched redenomination project; before he dipped his hands into politics; the former CBN governor had endeared himself to Nigerians, especially with his sound economics rhetoric and the successful banking sector recapitalization.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 303px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wnjlhTha8wM/Stxbq14U4hI/AAAAAAAAAO0/HY-ua8fsTak/s320/Dora+Akunyili.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394287245258973714" />
47. Dora Akunyili: We didn’t hear much of NAFDAC before her. And we haven’t heard much since her departure. Mrs Akunyili may be running into troubled waters with her rebranding project, but Nigerians will continue to remember her for the excellent job she did while at NAFDAC…

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 128px; height: 148px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_wnjlhTha8wM/StxcQxO7DaI/AAAAAAAAAPE/m07RgqXpo4I/s320/leo+stan+ekeh.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394287896846601634" />
48. Leo Stan Ekeh: Nigeria’s premiere indigenous computer manufacturer did the hitherto thought impossible when he birthed with Zinox computers eight years ago.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 300px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wnjlhTha8wM/StxccieVqzI/AAAAAAAAAPM/kcqNuNO4ytc/s320/nuhu+Ribadu.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5394288099043158834" />
49. Nuhu Ribadu: No one personifies that war against corruption in Nigeria like former EFCC boss Nuhu Ribadu. Controversial and often accused of selective dealings, the dismissed Police officer remains unapologetic and continues to push the button to prosecute allegedly corrupt Nigerians, even from exile.

THE NAIJA MUSIC SCENE THIS PAST WEEK

2009, is gradually coming to an end, and to think that when i started blogging nine months back, it was with an intention to update everyday. well, i guess that is shame on me for not being consistent.

Well, that is not to say that the Nigerian music scene is in a luke warm state. The industry has clearly been booming with activities from all nook and crannies.

First and foremost, the NMVA nomination list was released on Sunday, October 4, 2009. The awards ceremony which is scheduled to hold on November 1, 2009 has heavy weighters like Darey Art Alade, Keffe and MI as major contenders

Also, there are reports that Mr. Capable Banky W is working on the video for 'Lagos party' the 2nd video off his second album 'The W experience'.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 160px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2vAObJbBlPE/Ss9gqt-kwjI/AAAAAAAAAFk/y4kTmkbeQ-g/s320/banky_wellington%5B1%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390633565998596658" />
its no longer news that Kelly Hansome's new track (Igwe Kom Kom) was directed at Sex Icon Dbanj, Debutant Wande coal and rave of the moment Terry G. The track which became popular amongst the internet audience last week lashes out at the trio. Kelly Hansome spits at the beginning of the track, 'Yes i be Arsenal, you be Man U, no wonder you look like a Malu' confronting Wande Coal with no apologies.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_2vAObJbBlPE/Ss9nZJeApGI/AAAAAAAAAFs/EmjrZp9EVko/s320/kelly-hansome-and-wande%5B2%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390640960721953890" />
There are also talks of an all girl's night out by Smooth promotions, the publishers of Hiphopworld magazine, organisers of hiphopworld awards and producers of Hip On TV. Sources claim that the team is being headed by Joke Jaiyesinmi- Producer of Hip On TV, but nothing official has been said for now.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_2vAObJbBlPE/Ss9pTUYUpOI/AAAAAAAAAF0/hVa5rjnkllI/s320/Joke+Jaiyesimi.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390643059594929378" />
Not forgetting that 9ice will release his third album titled 'Tradition in Transition' this month. To be sincere, that is one album i cant wait to have. Already, a teaser from his first single 'Liquor' was released online some weeks back.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 171px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2vAObJbBlPE/Ss9uRWjlFnI/AAAAAAAAAF8/tbr45VzQz2M/s320/9ice+akandee+(2).JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390648523377415794" />
I also cant get enough of Bouqui's new album 'Redefinition'. my Favorite tracks remain 'Oluwa' and 'BOUQUI Anthem'.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_2vAObJbBlPE/Ss9xDpWoytI/AAAAAAAAAGE/M4hzUNNsBDs/s320/BOUQUI-8.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390651586440121042" />
Iyanya fresh from The New york Fashion show had an album listening section with select audience on Sunday October 4, 2009
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 255px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2vAObJbBlPE/Ss9xnM9rsSI/AAAAAAAAAGM/je_UCWHW8dc/s320/iyanya_n_friends.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5390652197294551330" />
Who has heard of this guy? his name is Femi and he is so talented. he has two singles on air now 'Mapami' ft. In the words of Steven Johnson of Time Magazine 'The speed with which users have extended Twitter's platform points to a large truth about mordern innovation'.

To a large extent, this is more than true- it only took a tweet which read- MJ has been rushed to the hospital, he is in coma. that man had better not die' for my antennas to rise, and then within 5 minutes, the whole word on twitter was on Michael Jackson until he finally gave up at exactly 2.26pm on June 25, 2009.

The pop icon died at the age of 50 which is the reason why i have taken today off tweeter and Black berry messenger to create 50 different things about the world's most famous man on earth.

i hope you guys enjoy it!!!

Lest i forget, it will be a sin if i dont say this- 'I love Twitter'

50 CELEBRITIES COMMENT ON MICHAEL JACKSON’S DEATH.

.1. RIP Michael Jackson, moon walk into God’s arms by HIS Grace… You will be solely missed- Kemi Adetiba

2. I think MJ is the only idol I’ve ever had. I never got the chance to tell him how much he and his music mean to me- Keri Hilson

3. RIP to the greatest artiste/ Entertainer ever Michael Jackson- Banky W

4. Today is so sad- Alicia keys

5. I am shaken though, because one night he was, and now he isn’t. And I so loved him. R.I.P to the true King of Pop. Hope you find rest now- Tosyn Bucknor

6. I'm very sad today ...Michael Jackson is one of the greatest Artistes I looked up to I learnt a lot from watching his videos....his performances...I’m absolutely stunned may his gentle soul rest in peace...."GONE TOO SOON" this is also a lesson to us all life is too short no one is promised tomorrow. Let’s live life to the fullest and put God first- Weird MC

7. When I was 6 I saw this good looking afro wearing boy singing on TV with his brothers, I wanted to be like him. When I first danced in front of a crowd in Igbobi College, it was to 'Don't Stop Till You Get Enough', I wore the white glove, I did the moonwalk, I performed Thriller as a Zombie at the National Theatre, I had tears in my eyes the only time I saw him live at Wembley Stadium... My Michael, Our Michael. - Ayo Shonaiya

8. I’m still in shock. It is so hard to believe that Michael Jackson is gone, I cried for hours as I watched the breaking news on CNN and Sky News at midnight. He's been an icon to me despite all he'd been through, the best performer the world has ever seen. May His Soul rest in peace. - Nikki Laoye

9. I’m overwhelmed by the love shown to MJ in DEATH one, he was denied in the last 10-15years of his life. They called him a pedophile, cosmetic junkie etc. reminds me of Jesus Christ and here on earth Princess Diana- Djinee.

10. “I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don’t have the words. Divinity brought our souls together on ‘The Wiz’ and allowed us to do what we were able to throughout the ’80s. To this day, the music we created together on Off The Wall, Thriller and bad is played in every corner of the world and the reason for that is because he had it all…talent, grace, professionalism and dedication. He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I’ve lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him.”- Quincy Jones

11. "This is hard, my brother, the legendary King of Pop, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 2:26 PM... It is believed he passed away of cardiac arrest.

12. I can’t stop crying over the sad news; I have always admired Michael Jackson. The World has lost one of the greats, but his music will live forever- Madonna

13. I am so sad and confused with every emotion possible, I am heart broken for his children who I know were everything to him and for his family- Lisa Marie Presley

14. We lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only pop music, but of all music. We’ll continue to make good music and preach the gospel of Africa to the rest of the world’’.

Lagbaja’s debut album was released in 1993. He followed with Cest Un African Thing in 1996, and in 2000 he did what was hitherto thought impossible when he dropped a three-in-one album titled ME, WE and ABAMI respectively. The simultaneous three-part release further enriched his repertoire of hits and timeless pieces, endeared him to even more critics, and won him a million-and-one converts. His most recent album – Africano… the mother of groove- was released to critical acclaim in 2005.

Once again, Lagbaja is releasing more than one album simultaneously. ‘‘We have two CDs coming out this time. Our fans deserve it, especially having waited for this long’’, He said.
